Backward compatibility with almost all current printers
With the ZD421, you can continue to use the same label formats and applications you are accustomed to, regardless of whether you currently use a Zebra or competitor printer. The ZD421 supports ECL and ZPL printer languages. And with Virtual Devices, included in Zebra’s Print DNA suite of tools and utilities, the ZD421 can also use languages typically associated with other printer brands.
Various connectivity options
Thanks to the different connection options available, you can connect the ZD421 to your wired or wireless network or directly to any PC. The printer also features standard USB and USB host interfaces. You can also choose optional Ethernet or serial connectivity and the dual wireless radio function that supports the latest wireless options, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and MFi-certified Bluetooth 4.1, enabling printing from any iOS device. And by using the integrated Print Touch (NFC) tag, you can connect a mobile device to the ZD421 printer with a simple tap and perform printing operations.
Optional battery for cordless operation
With the removable desktop battery option, you can easily transport the ZD421 printer on a cart to enable immediate printing and reduce steps, increase productivity, and improve task accuracy. The battery housing mounts securely to the base of the printer, and connecting the battery is simple—just push it into the housing. The high-capacity battery is capable of operating for an entire shift, allowing the printer to function at maximum speed, including the peeler, cutter, and keyboard.
